At the Ball, most dances will be very briefly walked through to remind dancers of the figure. Prompting will be minimal. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the dances on the program, attend the English Country Dances in your communities and ask your dance leaders to include the ball dances in their dance programs.
We would love to have your help with the many small and easy tasks required to make this ball a success helping set up the hall, packing things away after the ball, or helping at the Sunday brunch. You can easily sign up for volunteering when registration opens, or email our volunteer coordinator, to ask how you can help.
Another way to help is providing housing for out-of-town guests. Out of towners can request hospitality and locals can offer hospitality when registration opens.
If you request or offer housing when you apply, the housing coordinator may contact you for addition information. Please be aware that you may not receive housing "assignments" until a few weeks prior to the Ball. If something has changed, please email our hospitality coordinator.

|October 5||David Macemon||some Fine Companions|
|October 19||David Macemon||some Fine Companions|
Location: A Renaissance School
0234 SW Bancroft St
Portland, OR 97239
Many GPS and map systems ignore a leading 0. If yours does, specify "SW Corbett Ave & SW Bancroft St, Portland OR." When you get there, go down the hill and the school is on the right.
The ball workshops are designed for learning the dances on the ball program and are not intended to be an introduction to English country dance. Familiarity with English figures and geography will be assumed at the workshops. If you are new to English country dance, please attend as many local English dances as possible prior to participating in the workshops.
Suggested donation is $10.00.
Each of these workshops will focus on different ball dances and styling tips.
NOTE: Street shoes are not allowed anywhere in A Renaissance School. Please be sure to bring dancing shoes or warm socks.
